A 19th century rare book by A.W. Hughes, treating on the subjects of history, politics, travel and geography of regions including: Baluchistan and Pakistan, Persia and Afghanistan, as well as Central Asia.
Hughes, of the Bombay Civil Service, was also the author of the first comprehensive Gazetteer of Sind. His account appeared at a time when the Tory leader Benjamin Disraeli came to power and instructed the Viceroy of India, Lord Lytton to bring Baluchistan into a defensive alliance with Britain.
