The Workmans, among mountaineering's legends, were notable explorers of the Karakoram – now in Pakistan – and what the mountaineering historian Kenneth Mason calls 'its great world of ice and mighty peaks'. They visited the Karakorams no less than 7 times between 1898 and 1912. London 1910.
