A nobleman and his wife meet to worship at a shrine to the Devi in the Punjab Hills.

They stand at the side of a plinth on the bank of a river. The nobleman is dressed in a white jama with an orange sash and orange turban adorned with a black sarpech, his wife in a grey sari and green dopatta. To her right, a gold shrine to the goddess with the image seated on a bed of lotus petals. In the background, the snow-capped Himalayas. Pahari, circa 1840.
