Established as a hill station by the British in the 1850s, sometimes known as ‘Queen of the Hills’, Murree is especially popular as a summer resort for the residents of Islamabad and the cities of the Punjab. It also is the home to the Murree Brewery Company, founded in 1860, one of the oldest public companies in the sub-continent, and amongst the earliest modern breweries established in Asia.
